Who You're Calling

Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical Services in Los Angeles, CA

Dutton Plumbing Cooling, Heating, & Electrical is a licensed home service company  working out of Simi Valley and Sylmar. Our Sylmar shop puts us inside the Los Angeles city limits, which allows us to reach homes quickly.

In Los Angeles, we handle plumbing repairs, drain clearing and sewer work, water heaters, water filtration, air conditioning, heating, and electrical service. Same crews, same standards, across every neighborhood we cover.

Common Plumbing & Electrical Problems in Los Angeles Homes

Los Angeles isn’t one kind of housing stock. A 1920s bungalow and a 1990s build sit a few blocks apart, and what goes wrong in each is different.

Older homes are still running original pipe.

Plenty of LA houses built before the 1970s have galvanized steel supply lines and cast iron drains. Galvanized corrodes from the inside, so water pressure fades over years without anything visibly failing. Cast iron scales up and narrows until routine clogs start happening monthly.

Clay sewer laterals and mature trees don’t get along.

Older neighborhoods have clay sewer lines with joints every few feet. Roots from established street trees find those joints during dry stretches and grow into them. It’s the most common cause of a main line backup in this part of the city.

Panels weren’t built for how we live now.

A house wired for a mid-century electrical load is now running a second AC unit, an induction range, and possibly an EV charger. Breakers that trip repeatedly are usually telling you the panel is undersized rather than faulty.

The Dutton Standard

What You Get On Every Call

At Your Door in 60 Minutes or Less

Most emergency calls get a technician out within the hour, and there is no surcharge for the speed.

Priced by the Job, Not the Hour

You hear the number before the work starts, and it holds until we pack up. A slow job costs us, not you.

Technicians You Can Trust in Your Home

Background-screened, drug-tested, and trained every week. Boot covers go on at the door, and the house gets left the way it was found.

Los Angeles Questions

What LA Homeowners Ask Us About Plumbing, HVAC, & Electrical

Do you serve all of Los Angeles?

We work across the northern and valley side of the city most often, since both our shops sit up that way.

Our Sylmar location is inside the city, which keeps response times short for most LA calls.

Often, yes. Water heater replacements, panel upgrades, repipes, and sewer line work generally require a permit through the LA Department of Building and Safety, and the work has to pass inspection.

Usually, it’s the galvanized steel supply pipe. It corrodes inward over decades, narrowing the opening until pressure drops noticeably at every fixture. A failing pressure regulator can cause a sudden drop, but a slow fade over years almost always points to the pipe itself.

Yes, across most of the basin. Mineral content builds up inside water heaters, leaves scale on fixtures and shower glass, and slowly narrows older pipe. It's the reason water heaters here often fall short of their rated lifespan, and the main reason homeowners look into filtration.

Ready When You Are

Let's Get Your Home's Ducks in a Row

Los Angeles homes ask a lot of their plumbing, their panels, and their AC, often all in the same month. Tell us what’s happening at your place, and we’ll send someone who has seen it before.

Pick a time that works, and we’ll be there.
